Holly Jolly Christmas

Our first Christmas with Evie was also our first Christmas spent at home. We are lucky that David's parents now live close by, so we were able to spend part of the day with family. The festivities began on Christmas Eve with Eckleton the Elf delivering special Christmas pajamas for Drake and Evie to wear that evening. It was Eckleton's parting gift before returning to the North Pole. Eckleton was a wonderful addition to our family and while I was hesitant to introduce him to Drake this year because I thought he was too young, I am so glad that I did. Drake loved waking up everyday and looking for Eckleton and still asks for him.

After attending the family Christmas Eve service at church, we had a quiet evening at home. Drake and I made cookies to leave for Santa. Of course, just like everything theses days, it was necessary for the cookies to be blue. The best (easiest) I could do were sugar cookies with blue sprinkles.
Christmas day was spent with the four of us opening presents and eating breakfast in the morning and David's parents joining us for a delicious dinner that evening. This was Drake's third Christmas but the first that he actually was interested in what was going on. He was a bit slow initially to open presents but once he started, he realized that they contained new toys just for him.
